I know of quite a few cars, there is a REALLY clean fox roller, i'd go that route and get a cheap engine/tranny from someone on CL

No space to work on it, 7 cars at the house I'm living at and the driveway is taken up. Also no engine hoist. All i have is a truck to go get parts.

You grab it and store it until you have everything and we'll do the swap here, i'll even tow the car home for you.

Let me see if i can work out the details. I have a truck and a dolly to tow it's only space, time, and $. Cause as of now I'm carless that's why i kinda wanted a running one. I'm driving my Uncles dually diesel around to and from work.

I'm gonna call you after work guy. This is sounding like a good plan, I would just want a little cheaper shell. 1200 is a little steep. I wanna be able to register and give the car a tune up with the extra cash. If there is any.

You'll spend 3 times that amount getting another car that is running, and it will be thrashed, get a clean shell, cheap engine and tinker with it until you can get is registered. But i can assure you, a running 2k fox will look and run like shit. At least i can do a majority of the work and you can finish it when time/funding permits.

You'll thank me when you decide that i'm right and up up with a clean fox you could probably flip if needed as well and be more proud to drive around in.

If you know you're going to mod a car to do XYZ at some level beyond stock, don't spend a penny more than necessary on the base to get started. Obviously I don't mean cheap out and get bent frames/unibody or rust destroyed panels, just nothing has to be particularly nice if you're going to change it.

Exactly, 1200 for a clean paint, undamaged body with clean full interior is as good a deal as you could hope for.

LOL Stock 27 year old engine pushing 18lbs of boost for 2 years. I think she served her purpose haha. I actually came up with another $500 bucks so I'm going to have more then i thought. Being 23 and making s**t for money sucks!

I was messn man cuz theres a FORD guy here that was making fun of my "plastic car". Lol. It's all good man. I started out with a 1988 GTA Firebird making $10 an hour after high school and then i was happy when I got $15 as an electrical apprentice shortly after. Now I would never survive on that. Lol. You're on your way. Then as you get older and wiser you'll get a Chevy. ;)

Lol i found it funny cause this is the 3rd ford I've owned and they've all broken. I just got promoted recently and I'm almost done with my probation period and they're gonna bump me up to $14 bucks. I was almost thinking of buying a Nova. I'm not a car hater, i love chevy, ford, mercurys, gto. I just have a soft spot for 5.0's and fox bodys, ever since i was in middle school i knew i would own one till i die.

Your car cant break if it doesnt run.....or dont have enough power. But yes, you wanna play you gotta pay.

How'd the head crack? Too much boost/cylinder pressure?

27year old stock motor and too much boost. I was pushing 18lbs when it cracked. Update though, i decided to keep the SVO idle for now and I'm picking up a 60's VW bug in the next couple days. I already got enough money for it, just need to find one that has what i want and I'm going to pick it up. Drop it on spindles, add an oil filter kit, electronic ignition, 6 point cage, and electric fan.

So you're going to buy an aircooled VW for a reliable DD, man Mike, sometimes i wonder...

lol a lot of people say that but with minimal mods those things can be good runners. Uncle drove one for 3 years never broke down, dad owned and built 3, never left him stranded besides flat tires.

External oil cooler, electric fan setup, electronic ignition, add an extra oil filter, upgrade alternator. It's not going to be my "race car" Just my everyday, drive 10 miles back and forth to work. I don't need a 5.0 to do that. The SVO is going to be getting taken apart in the next couple weeks, in the meantime i already got a 76 datsun truck as a backup car. So I'm thinking i should be set.

Yup my uncle had one, rolled it in a parking lot and was always working on it. Neighbor had one that he couldnt go a few days without wrenching on, you're talking about alot of expensive mods that do little for performance that wont need to be done to another vehicles, just sayin. Maybe look into a cheap maxima or something
