Our class distilled Rum in our high school chemistry class. My grandmother had a still in her basement where she made her own corn whiskey. My father told me the whiskey was very strong. My mother used to make plum wine under the sink in my home when I was a kid. She complained that my father was impatient and started to drink it before it was ready. I remember seen glass containers with liquid and plums. Raisin Jack was popular on board ship when I was in the Navy.
