My ten quart capacity diesel has a twelve thousand mile service interval, and it's only at four thousand miles and the oil looks dirty as shit. Is this normal? I know diesel oil gets dirtier than gas engine oil, but damn, my oil looks super black and it's supposed to go another eight thousand miles!!!

I go about 10-13k before an oil change, ive changed the oil at 3k and at 10k and there isnt much of a noticeable difference, diesel oil always looks like whats comes out of the tail pipe, remember, its no different than a gas oil, looks for shiny stuff, if its not there, you're okay. Which reminds me, im due for an oil change monday, i'll take pics of what comes out for your piece of mind.

Nah, im good, chevron delo is good diesel oil, no other oil matches the zinc content as oil designed for diesels, besides we have barrels of oil at the shop :)
