For some reason the new Pagani doesn't do much for me. The Zonda was a cooler looking car. My lottery car is still a McLaren F1. After that I'd buy a Veyron SS, a Koenigsegg, and a Ferrari 458 spyder :)

Fixed it. The problem is YT uses a huge array of syntax for forming URLs now and our embedder is probably a little long in the tooth.

Good choices. I'm a Koenigsegg CCX-R man myself. To me it stands out a bit more having quite different design elements (love the wrap around windshield). And it's impossible to spell or pronounce properly which is a real bonus for exclusivity. :smack:

Mmm,no. Cool car, even great in a lot of ways but not even close from an aesthetics POV. It suffers from the same thing the first SSC did, just a lot of generic super car looking design elements.
Tbf, I'd take the MP4-12C over the 458 anyday.

Both 427, both good. Just the S7 is a twin turbo with a 1000hp option. Made right in Irvine, ca

The build quality of the S7 was suspect. Compared to other cars in that price range, the fit and finish was subpar. That's what I've read at least.

I read the opposite. The interior was designed around the person who bought it, things weere placed specifically in certain distances to make it a custom fit. The prospective buyers were put up at the ritz while they received driving classes until their car was finished being assembled

The S7 is a pretty interesting car. I got to intern for Saleen for a couple of monthe in college. Part of the reason that they had to fit each car to each customer was that the seats, pedals and steering column had not adjustments. The steering column was in fact out of a Focus of the same vintage. It even had the cheap Ford key blank as any other ford but at least they stuck a Saleen logo on it.
Speaking of local manufacturers, Metal Crafters in Costa Mesa made the body panels for the S7 when I was there.
There were some interesting touches. One that was kind of weird was an off the shelf Kenwood head unit for the stereo. It always had an out of place feel to me.
Last I heard, Saleen packed up their Irvine facility and moved the whole operation to Troy, Michigan but I have not confirmed that.

The McLaren F1 is probably my favorite car ever, but the MP4-12C leaves me kind of cold. I just saw a comparo where it beat out a Porsche Turbo and 458, but I'd still take the Ferrari.
The MP4-12 did run 10.7@134 though

The new SSC Tuatara looks awesome too:
The SSC Tuatara uses a four-Cam 7.0-litre twinturbo V8 that reaches 9,000rpm and delivers 1,350hp. The car weighs 1,200 kilograms (2,600 lb) so it manages over 1,000hp per tonne. The Tuatara reaches 0–62 miles per hour (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and the top speed is an estimated 275 miles per hour (443 km/h).

The two aren't really comparable. That's like comparing a Ford Festiva to a GT-40.
Anyone who would prefer the MP4-12C should have their man card revoked.

I agree that a Ferrari is MUCH sexier than a Lambo, but the cold, in-your-face hard edge of a Lambo calls to me. More of a masculine car to me.

I think the Ferrari 458 is better than the Lamborghini Gallardo, but the Lamborghini Aventador is much better than the Ferrari 599.

I think I was watching Top Gear or something the other day and they were driving the Aventador... the tester said the normally hard to control Lambo was very easy to drive. Insanely fast but more stable.

My builder said the same thing about the lambo, difficult to drive around town, an overall chore.

I see a yellow 458 maybe every month or so drive down my street in front of my house. The car is bombshell gorgeous. I'd love to have one. Only thing: I'm not so sure about the trans. I've never driven one like those fitted on cars of that caliber (IOW standard clutch/gear level shifter is what I'm used to), but I guess I'm a little old fashioned and like to have that kind of a shift setup.... anyway, the car is dead sexy, much more so than the f430 before it imo, and sounds insane... one day, one day... :)

I agree, I prefer the stick too. The paddles just take away from the experience IMO. When I sat in my friends dads Bugatti I was looking for the clutch pedal but it doesnt even have that. I guess with that much power it might be hard to modulate the clutch?
