Alright its come to my attention that alot of people have non operational or under performing a/c systems. And since my shops charge $50 just to look at it most just deal with it. Well no more, i'll gladly extend my parts discount to anyone i do work for and charge a flat rate repair of $100 for up to a drier replacement, plus parts. Typical drier costs $35+/- and whatever amount of r-134 you need, which is generally about 3 cans.

Figuring my girlfriends dad was quoted $600 for a hard line replacement i think its quite fair and i can do it quickly. Plus no bogus cal hazmat fees added to the bill. If you'd like a/c work done i'll inspect your system for free and tell you where we can go after that. Thanks y'all.

I'm a customer and will attest to the awesomeness of Guy's repairs. The Cobra blows ice cold :)

My brother has an 2000 nissan sentra that needs a low pressure hose replaced and for it to be recharded! How much? You can pm me and ill send you my #

Hoses would typically fall into the drier catagory, since it should be replaced and is typically part of the low side. So as long as you buy parts, either from my guy or on your own its $100. As long as its not grossly obvious that its going to be a huge job (removing bumper covers, lifting engines etc)
Make sure he also brings 3 can of r134 at least as well. Pm me your number and we'll discuss it.

I'm going to have you look at my wife's 01 Corolla and my 02 Eclipse. I'll be in touch to pick a date. I'm more concerned about the Corolla since that is the kid hauler.

Works for me, what exactly are they doing?
I'm free tomorrow, and next weekend

Both are blowing fairly cold air, but not as cold as they should be. I ended up having to drain the 134a in the Eclipse and and refilled it to get it to where it is now. Was just blowing warm air all together. I tried the same in the Corolla and no change. I know you're not supposed to do that, but oh well.

I can't do this weekend, I'll let you know about next weekend. Which day would be good for you?

Saturdays are best, in case i need parts quickly. Both will need the drier to be replaced for sure, moisture and dead air in the systems is not helping them blow cold.

Alright, I'll talk to the wife and see about getting her car to you next Saturday.

I have at least one, and maybe two trucks that could use it. But given my current poverty status, it'll have to wait til the spring I think.

Can you even still get R12? I know it is better, so I'd like to keep it R12 if I can.

Shaolin Crane
09-15-2011, 12:45 AM
Its not that r12 is better, its that systems designed for r12 just arent compatible with r134.
Unless you have universal seals installed (which i do have btw) the system will eventually leak, and r12 compressors dont have the internal components to circulate r134 properly. Like with the mustang guys, getting the compressor and condenser from the r134 cars is better than just changing fittings and pumping it full of r134. Cause now you have a true r134 system that will work just like newer cars.

However, most makes dont have this interchangeability, so yes I can get r12 from a buddy of mine in boston, he has his license for it, i paypal him money and he'll ship me some, really the only way im able to get it.

Look on craigslist, a few weeks ago in OC a dude had about 60 cans for sale. Try that route first, if not i'll hit up my buddy for you.

Shaolin Crane

Its getting hot again, and now you can buy the freeon directly from me. No more buying cans and paying cal-hazmat fee, sales tax and a core charge they never refund to you. I'll only charge $50, which is what the freeon costs me. Plus my discount on parts. Let me know people, before its time to start sweating your ass off.

Thanks for charging the Explorer Guy. I think the issue with max ac is the EATC controler because the vents work fine when set to auto.

Awesome, I tried that yesterday and it seemed to stop doing it. Have fun with it :)

And I was glad to help, especially after all the times you pulled me out of the fire

Trade you a truck full of 1988 Fox interior, starter, and highly desired, limited edition 2.3 Intake with possibly working injectors. But wait . . .there's more, computer + harness. Might even throw in some belly button lint.

I'm glad I haven't had you do mine yet since I had to pull the motor again. I should pick up that R12 anyways.

Shaolin Crane

You really should, he sells it cheap and in the event you dont need it i'll gladly take it off your hands for the fox.

Where is the guy located? I can probably pick them up tomorrow or later in the week. I have to pick up another accumulator since I may have thrown mine away in my heat of rage after finding out I had to pull my motor again. I threw a bunch of stuff away actually.

Dick said you can pay when they're done and you pick them up. He's still playing catch up and should be done in a couple days.

Shaolin Crane
07-08-2012, 07:40 PM
I have r134, i just cant get r12. I charge $40 for the fill, the cheapest i've ever seen a can is $12.99 plus tax and a $10 core per can. So I try and match the cheapest amount i've seen.

Works for me, let me know what day you're finished and i'll service it, if its a money thing I have no issue servicing it then you paying me when you're able. No reason for her to be sweating.

Money ain't a thang. She was very adamant about getting her AC working so maybe on Sunday the 15th if everything goes well on Saturday. That is, if you are available.
