I think so.... put a long screw driver tip on the turbo housing and the handle on your ear. May even be able to feel the vibration in the handle. I had Turbo City rebuild one for us....they put it together "backwards" . The noise was gone... but so was the boost !

Yes, Anaheim..sounded like BS to me when I heard it too :bang:
I think they put the wrong impeller on it, with the blades reversed, and called it backwards.

Pull the intake tube off of the turbo and see how much you can move the impeller around by hand. There should be very little movement. That sounds like the bearings are bad.

Car sounds bad, I put my jack handle on the compressor housing and held it up to my ear, it sounds like a piece of metal set loose in there. Screeching and grinding noises like crazy. Oil feed must have clogged up or something. It's toast.
