seems like a new place to hang.
I have an 87 mustang lx with a few mods.8 cylinders, 5 speeds, fat tires, loud mufflers, and a huge spoiler. what more does one need?

I dont have a lot of pics as everyone has beat to death fox mustang rebuilds. the pics I do have are during the build process so paint and wires look hideous. interior is still a work in progress too.

mods are rebuilt 302 bottom end. ported gt40s, ported edelbrock performer, 70mm tb, tfs1 cam,90mm pro m maf, bbk shorties, mac offroad h pipe and mufflers, 5 lug conversion, black fr500 rims 17x9 up front, 17x10.5 in the back, and a pro 5.0 shifter on a stock t5( we'll see how long that holds up).

Welcome, Nice Fox Body.
If I didn't have so much money into my New Edge I'd sell it and buy a fox body again. I loved my 89GT.

what I love about them is also what I hate about them, its like driving a 300hp shoe box. they are about as light and structurally sound as one too.

This is my 3rd one, probably my last one. I am jonesing for a lsx powered jeep or toyota fj40.

Welcome to the board. Some day I think I might buy a late 80's 5.0 for fun.

An FJ40 is a better platform than a Jeep. They have stronger axles and frames. Plus more room for the driver. My brother has a '78 with a Chevy 350 K motor in it and my dad has a '69 with a Chevy 350 R motor.

I would prefer the FJ platform over the jeep, getting hard to find any that wont cost a small fortune to put back together though. The land rover look is, to me anyway, much cleaner than a jeep. Open any national geographic, what are they driving? Not a jeep, thats for damn sure.

Those tires look pretty sticky. What are they?

Nice! Nitto tires are great. I have some Neo Gens on the car and they are damn sticky and soft as well. I've some small chunks of rubber missing from the softness of the rubber.

I like them in the rear. They grip like a mofo, the fronts tend to wander at highway speed.

thats a pricy tire for something that will probably never see an auto-x or road course.

I don't think mine were that bad 275/40/17 were only 600 OTD, and maybe you should pull your skirt off and try autox or a road course sometime :)

the 555s were the cheapest I could get that I didnt consider a crap tire( sumitomo, nexen...etc) I bought the 275/45/17s for the front, the two 315s( those were the pricey ones) and two 17x10.5 rims for 1k to my door. Dont think that was such a bad deal.
I would love to compete my car in more than a straight line, but there seems to be a lack of interest in anything other than 1/4 mile times in my area.

My pockets aren't deep enough to get track time there nmo matter how bad id want it. Besides, I need an injector harness.

Shaolin Crane

I told you I had one, you'll need to salvage 1 or 2 injector plugs from your old one though, I cut them off for a special project.

The 555s are perfect for straight line performance. :D

NT01's are expensive short life tires that are terrible for any moisture, hoosier A6's are similarly priced and a much better tire
