2002 Electron Blue. Totally awesome car. It pulls hard everywhere and handles like a dream. The brakes are :drool2:
The fact that you can pick up a C5 Z06 for under 20k is probably the best car deal on the planet.
Thanks again for giving me the chance buddy :drink:

Yeah, not exactly a seller's market out there. I've occasionally thought to sell my somewhat special/unique LSx converted C3, but I'd take an absolute bath on what I put into it.

Electron blue, bleh.
SW is where its at. But yeah, just an incredible car for the money, im still shocked at the things they can do. Got mine at 65k for 17, so its not hard at all to come in under 20 with completely reasonable mileage, and im knockin down 22mpg combined, like 28 hwy. Good times.

Heypal is a helluva guy. He let me ride his Gixxer when I had very little experience on two wheels. Or he's really really stupid, not quite sure.

Well, heypal, when I get my C3, which has more power and torque and less weight than stock C5Z a little more friendly to drive (warm start idle weirdness) you're welcome to take it for a spin. Imagine it, more and lighter than what you've got with the bonus of a 60s era chassis and suspension. HINT: If you go fast and hit the brakes, it *might* surprise you withe where it wants to go. :jester: And how's your insurance?

howd you get a C3 so light? arent the mid 70's C3s 3500ish?

Mine's an 82', aluminum Dana 44 etc., It's 3,100lbs FULL WET +- 10lbs. That's weighed, not me guess'n.
Mind you that's replacing the iron block/heads with aluminum, trans aluminum, removing spare tire, jack, power steering, etc. Still have A/C, it's still a GT, not a stripped racer.
I might have as much another 100lbs+ total in calipers/rotors, wheels/tires (huge deal as it's unsrprung), headers, half shaft and control arms.
I think I can get to <= 3,000lbs and with headers+tune 420WHP (NA 346 91~ octane, passing smog sniffer) in something that pretty much looks stock C3.
Oh, and I have just 8.5x255 tires that don't "dead hook"; you need a judicious right foot with the mechanical throttle (no fly by wire . . . or any other nanny at all.)
Depending on what the future holds, I'd go to a Guldstrand 5 link. HUGE improvement in rear suspension geometry, and would allow going to 10"rims.
PS, I'm Driving Miss Daisy compared to enkeivette. I've got the mpg, comfort of something sorta like a normal car, and pretty good go power, but enkeivette's C3 is still the most vicious car I've ridden in.
It's also borderline impossible to drive as far as I can tell. Manually steered stock steering, no reverse lockout hook up, on and on. But still . . .

Yup, IMO C5Zs are great cars for many reasons. They haul ass for sure. I'm actually surprised how cheap they are. I wouldn't mind having a silver one in my stable, I love silver cars :drive: I've heard they can be squirrely at the limit. Check out this video taken @ Buttonwillow some years ago. I like when he puts his fist up after the 180/doughnut :p

If your C3 pulls when you brake I'd be willing to bet one of your calipers is leaking. See if you notice any fluid. If you do, and it's not from the lines, order a caliper rebuild kit. It's super cheap and easier to do.
Congrats on the car heypal. Now you have a 10 second turbo fwd grandpa car and a rwd sports car that is by comparison... slow. Hahaha. JK, I'd rock either one. :judge:

Nope, I bought new. It's a known problem (design feature) with toe change under hard braking. The five link (which is available for C3s) and later suspensions eliminate it. I have a fairly hard suspension so it's not too bad. Yours is the hardest C3 suspension I've ever seen so you're simply not getting much dive.
