Alright everyone,
We're doing Angeles Crest in May (4th Annual!) and it's currently scheduled for Sunday the 8th. Unfortunately, Mother's Day is also scheduled that day. I'm thinking of just backing it up one week to the 15th. I'm thinking we'll take the same route as last year up Big Tujunga Rd. and then to Upper Tujunga and then to Angeles Crest. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zwGEHbaOL1nf9pP9cH34YP6HXw1ct0gtOxkCAQauuuc/edit?hl=en#) That was a great run :)
So, let's vote on it. What do you all think?

Sadly I can't make it on the 15th. Any other Sunday I'm good to go.

It's my birthday AND Mother's day....conundrum. I want to go for my bday...but my mom probably has something planned that day. So as much as I'd like to go on the 8th...I guess the 15th is better :/

AGREED! That was my first motorgen event and it has been my favorite so run so far. Wide lanes, super fast speeds, and great visibility FTW.

Generally I'd agree, especially overall environment/scenery is more spectacular, but there are some technical sections on GMR that aren't matched by anything on ACH, so if you're really after that sort of thing you might prefer GMR.

Yeah, you're just not gonna get that on ACH. :drink:
Actually there are way more motorcycle accidents on ACH. In a way it's more dangerous because there are plenty of long stretches on ACH where you can really pick up some dangerous speed . . I know. :sm_up_there: GMR, very few.
Also, Highway 39 just reopened. A couple more years and a couple more tens of millions and we can have the angeles loop back!

I have to disagree. I live 5min from GMR so maybe Im used to that road but there are tighter turns and blind corners at ACH. It might be a bit straighter in some areas so you can carry more speed but once you start headed about 10-15 miles from Newcomb Ranch it gets pretty crazy. Good thing is the corners seemed more banked so it helps a lot to maintain grip throughout them.

We should go to palmdale/lancaster to those roads in the middle of no where and do top end runs. lol. Ive been working out there and boy is it lonely.

That's gonna be awesome. Wonder what the total distance is now going up and down? Might be a good one to add to our list, like September before it gets too cold.
