If I were in charge of the curriculum of high schools, most of at least the senior year would be filled with actually useful things. Among them would be a decent course in deductive logic and analytical reasonsing. A.k.a, how to know when somehting smells like horse hockey. (And as usual, there's a strong underlying economic element.)
