I met a really nice guy today that races a Hemi Cuda at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Last year his 2 way average was 226mph!

The car has a 426 hemi running 20lbs of boost out of a 14-71 blower

It has over 1000hp!

Here are some pics:

There is some other speed festival out by Victorville in May. Anyone want to go watch?

I talked to him again today - amazing stuff. They're racing at El Mirage on 5/14 and 5/15. Anyone up for a road trip?

My chances of being able to go are low, but I'm interested if possible.

What gears, trans, suspension, etc. What aerodynamics did he have to add to keep it on the ground and stable over 200. The air dam on the front is obvious but at what speed did it start to lift before adding it. Things like that.

The rears are 2:50

It uses a chrysler 4 speed with a mcleod clutch

It has no front brakes, only rears

He said it drifts all over the place at speed and it's a lot of work to keep it going straight.

Not sure on suspension though.

He said one time the parachute didn't open during a 200mph run and it took 2 miles to slow down :surrender:

I have but not since I was 16 or 17 years old. We used to go there when I was a kid to ride our dirt bikes.
