I'm just helping a friend sell his project car. It was running and in 1 piece when he got it. Lol, but he stripped it in hopes of restoring it.... then the funds ran out meaning he doesn't have anymore funds. He's moving and doesn't have space to store it anymore. Pics.... we'll I don't have the car so I don't have any. Car is located in long beach feel free to give him a call or text. Ask for mike....

I've seen the car like .... twice... to be honest wow needs a real enthusiast to know how to restore it back together. Its obo best offer so don't be afraid to negotiate the price considering he torn it down to try and restore it, but ran out of funds.

His wife told me that they were going to start putting it back together as much as possible. I wasn't sure what "as much as possible" she meant though.

I have no clue what engine he has. I didn't ask.

Chevy made a 283 not a 289 (Ford), and as far as I know they never came with a 283 in them in 1972 either. What was the vin on it? Was it an original auto or manual and what rearend does it have? I might have to take a look at this thing... As if I need a project right now.

Yeah I meant 283. Sorry, looks like the Chevelles didnt have a 283ci in '72. But they had these...

I believe by 1972 the 396 was replaced by the 402, the 427 by the 454, 327 by the 350. I could be remembering incorrectly. My 1970 had a 454 bored .60 over.

I took this list from the wikipedia article about Chevelles so Im not 100% sure but I know every v8 that Chevy made was available as an option. The 307 was the base engine but in CA the base was the 350. More than likely itll be a 350.

wow, you guys really know the chevelle. lol. I don't know anything about american cars other than when it comes to fixing them I have to think outside the box or imports. I found that out when I was working on a few F-350's.

I grew up with old iron v-8s and holley carbs. I love old muscle cars and big as cruisers. I just got a line on my dad's buddy's car. A 57 chevy bel air. All original, 283, 2 speed powerglide, original tropical teal turquoise/white two tone paint, original interior, CA black plate, and he only wants $9,000. He drives it around when its sunny out and cruises to pick up women half his age... Sorry not interseted in the chevelle anymore good luck with the sale amigo.
