Last cruise of the year for us. December 11th, GMR!
Always a good time:)
The meet point will be at a Kohl's in Upland with a very large parking lot. The address for Kohl's is:
1923 N Campus Ave
Upland, CA 91784
This puts us only about 5 miles or so from the beginning of the run. The total distance for the entire cruise is 43.3 miles. It should last about an hour and a half total. Once we finish the run the meeting point will be at a restaurant called La Tolteca (EXCELLENT Mexican food with a large parking lot and plenty of room for all of us inside). The restaurant is less than 5 miles from the end of the run, so again it should be a lot easier to keep together. The address for La Tolteca is:
429 N Azusa Ave
Azusa, CA 91702
I am going to shoot for a meet time at the Kohl's in Upland at 2:45p.m. We will leave the lot at 3:30p.m. With any luck, we should arrive for dinner between 5 and 5:30p.m.
Here is the route we are taking. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=1923+North+Campus+Avenue,+Upland,+CA%E2%80%8 E&daddr=Glendora+Ridge+Rd+to:E+Fork+Rd+to:CA-39+S%2FSan+Gabriel+Canyon+Rd+to:429+North+Azusa+Av enue,+Azusa,+CA%E2%80%8E&geocode=%3BFbhmCgIdyab8-A%3BFdRKCgIdYvH6-A%3BFX5yCgIdWrv5-A%3BFdLFCAIdMt74-CnVHo6i7CfDgDGK-u_IBJ0heQ&hl=en&mra=ls&sll=34.132264,-117.642952&sspn=0.002087,0.005284&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=34.183122,-117.774124&spn=0.13235,0.338173&z=12) I have gone through and cleaned it up by hand (don't trust google maps completely) and it should be simple. I will have directions for everyone at the Kohl's and will hand them out before we leave. The drive is a lot of fun and the views are pretty incredible. See you all the 11th!!!

Yeah I'm down, but I'll tell you right now, from my stand point, my ncar is nothing fast. I stepped out of a mid-12 second duramax into this thing stock, and even now with the tune and stuff it doesn't feel anywhere near as stout as that Dmax was, especially on the bottle. But yeah I'm down to do some 50 to 100 pulls with ya for shits and giggles. BTW do my research like I always do, the mods you have done indicate a car in the 13.0-13.5 range. I can tell you right now, your gonna be disappointed running me, I have about as mild a WRX as you'll ever find. Give me time to get her built, and then we will talk lol

Yea well its up to you dude. Yea I'm hoping for like 320hp and 350lbs/torque at the wheels but we shall see. I'm also hoping for a mid to high 12 sec. 1/4 time. When I was in AZ a few months back a guy with the same stuff I have ran a 13.2 on a badly prepped track with street tires with a trap of like 115mph. I'm still datalogging for the HP tune right now. It's getting fine tuned by one of the best LNF tuners in the country. I should be at about 25psi spike with it holding at 24 psi in 3rd through 5th gears. I have some huge traction issues in 2nd and the beginning of 3rd haha. A dig would be more advantageous for you if you would rather do that I don't mind.

Yea I'm down. I haven't really gone up against many SRT-4s. I'll race anyone, win or lose its still an adrenaline rush and pretty damn fun.
EDIT: haha my bad I messed up the MPH trap speed meant to put 115mph instead of 155mph I fixed it now. Sorry guys wasn't trying to make my $20,000 balt sound like the space shuttle.

Well thats what the twisties are for... Limit my time on the throttle. I need a good suspension set up like you have. You will murder me in the canyons... I probably won't even hook up if I mash the throttle. I'm getting wheel spin in second from 40 to almost 60 mph and the shift into 3rd it will break loose a little too.
I lol-ed at that cat too... freaking hilarious.

This one didn't go that great for me. It started when I got a call from Guy that his upper radiator hose blew up. Luckily I had Eric's (sorry Eric, I'll buy you a new one) here since we pulled his engine at my house. Then as we started the run his car started to get hot so we just cruised so he could keep the rpms under 3000. Then we missed the left onto Glendora Ridge Rd and ended up at the Mt. Baldy ski lift. On the way back down a couple cars got between Guy and I and I lost him as we made the turn onto Glendora Ridge Rd. Then to top it off my youngest daughter got car sick 3 times that we had to pull over so I only did 35mph the entire way back down the mountain. At least I got a couple of good pictures.

I'm sorry to hear that. It really is a great road. Maybe next time you can fly solo inside the group. It is a little more hair raising than other runs at points. One is wise not to push too much, but enjoy a more moderate pace.

Sorry dude. I feel terrible but I do really appreciate the help. I didnt get lost though i decided to cut it short and just hop back on the freeway. I went back and got my truck and pulled into the parking lot seconds before the first group did. We waited till you came down and saw you drive by but you didnt stop so we headed out. Thanks again, this has just motivated me further to finish the new engine. Next time out EVERYTHING will be new and shouldnt have any more issues. And you can tell Eric his hose will be in on monday
Anyhow my side of the story is just as bad. After we fixed the hose the car just kept climbing in temperature, i cruised down the hill to clairmont and kept the temps around 170, until i got back on the freeway and it jumped to 220-230 again. During the cruise back after missing the turn the cars IAC took a shit, so any time i let off the gas it would die and i would have to downshift to keep it running. Then i blew out my header gasket and the car was popping and what not the rest of the drive. Just alot of little things that happened all at once further pushing for the 347 i have in the shop.

Wish I could have been there longer.
My dad came down from Yosemite to hang out with me and I wanted him to tag along. We had started to change my brake rotors and pads before the run at about 10AM. Long story short and many trips to autozone we finished at about 4PM and made it there while you all stopped at the top and drove down with you all.

I had fun. I was hanging towards the back most of the time (my friend's DeLorean is a little underpowered), but that left me lots of room to play around a little.
I wonder where we should go next month?

I am still wondering about thae guy in the 180sx. His back caliper came off as we got to the half way point and we tried to help but then everyone started getting in there cars so we did to because we did not want to get lost. Hopefully everything turned out ok. I am alive haha... end up stuck up their for four hours haha... I got my brakes back on with a pilers found.a spare bolt, took like 2hrs haha... and after that just my luck, I had zero brake fluid, so had to wait for a buddy to bring it up.... but drove donw fine... had fun and thanks a million to the guys in the subie"s awsome ppl hungout till the end... I wanna see video that the 370z took

We're doing Palomar Mountain in January. If I harass my partners enough, there might even be a post and banner about it within 48 hours of the event. :smack:

I'm there... Even closer for me and there is a lines separating lanes so I won't get in a near miss head on collision with a cal fire pickup truck.

Don't worry about it, I'm glad you caught me before I left my house and that you were able to get home. Even if I was in the middle between everyone I still wouldn't have felt comfortable going very quick on that road and Mya kept getting car sick anyways. If the girls weren't with me then I'd push it some. It's funny because the last few times we've done mountain roads she's been fine but this road got to her.

Hell that road was getting to me too, sharp steering response and narrow roads combined with a distraction to the temp gauge didnt make it fun.
