New to the site here. My smog guy told me about this site so I thought I would check it out. Looks like a pretty good group of people from all genres of automobiles are able to see past their differences here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome. How about some info on your car.
The daily driver is an 04 GTO. The money pit is a 94 corvette. I put some pictures up on my profile. Basically I'm rebuilding the engine after smashing an exhaust valve into a piston. Since I don't want to do stuff twice, I decided to do it right. Ross pistons, Manley 300M rods, Compstar crank, Blower Works D1SC at 15 psi with methanol/water injection. The heads were repaired since they were already ported by Advanced Induction. Since I already had the tranny out to get the engine to the machine shop, I had California Performance transmission go through it one more time. The rear end is a Dana 44 with 3.91s. According to Desktop Dyno, it should be in the 700 horsepower neighborhood assuming I knew what I was doing when I filled in the blanks. Hopefully it will go down the quarter pretty good.

Once the parts for the new motor start coming in, I'll start a thread in the motor, tranny, suspension section. So far it has been months of planning with vendors and it is finally coming together. The short block had the crank and rods arrive last week. The head unit and supercharger were shipped last week so should arrive soon.

Should get together with my pops sometimes, you two could swap ideas. Hes in the planning stages of a turbo build on his 93 vette. Might be a couple nasty c4s runnin around pretty soon. :drink:

Is he looking at an STS rear mount or is it going to be more like the calloway L98s set up?

You mean the B2K factory option? That'd be cool if they occasionally offered a factory tuner option again. Enough guys certainly pay big bucks to modify their stock models.

Yeah, along the lines of the B2k option versus the STS rear mount. I don't know of anyone that sells B2K style turbo kits for C4s. I guess that would lead to some fabrication or some searching of the internets for parts.

I'm not sure how radically different the exhaust port spacing is between LT and LS motors, but maybe you could adapt an APS kit. This would be totally illegal in CA though. I've heard mostly good things about STS. I've been tempted to do one on my old C3 (I have an LS motor and technically am considered an F Body by the State). But I think I'd probably go with a Pro-Charger instead in my case.
