Hello All, my name is Alexis and I happen to be the wife to a crazy car lovin, mustang man (SeanPlunk). I have seen this site start with just an idea and develop into something amazing. I love watching all of the ideas come to life.
I have also come to this site as horsepower woman as well. Sean introduced me to what is a gas petal and (and currently a clutch). He also keeps and eye out for me when I get a hold of his car to make sure I’m not being followed by some bacon as I have quite a lead foot. After being a passenger for so many years I finally said, nuts to that! Show me what I can do with that car. After some practice and a few stalls and burn outs, I can safely say that letting the tires rip free, hearing the spool up of the supercharger and the smell of rubber is totally and utterly an amazing adrenaline rush. Maybe one day you’ll see me running down the ¼ mile but not any time soon. I still have some practicing to tend to.
Our new adventure is a possible purchase of a Dodge Magnum R/T Hemi. Sean has a few plans in mind for the engine but my only requirement is something that can haul kids and their junk (although none at the moment running around) but also have some fun with. I’ll keep you posted with the purchase.
Take care!
Alexis

I'm sure you'd be faster than Sean. :nutkick: In all seriousness, there are many ass-kicking professional women drag racers. On average, women have better hand eye coordination and reaction times.

I'm not saying their equally represented, but in the entire world of competitive sports, it is one of the VERY few where women can and have beat their male competitors in straight up competition.
Here's a classic
http://www.muldowney.com/index.htm
Danica Patrick, while not a champion, has been consistently faster than the majority of an otherwise all male field. There have been very competitive women drivers in Endurance racing, etc.
Women are generally physically capable of being very competitive in any form of motorsport. What they lack (admidettedly physical) isn't the necessary, strength, speed or endurance, but the mystical power of testosterone. That great hormone that makes men want to crush their competitors without mercy or compassion. For example, the way I treat Sean at the track. :nutkick: . . . I'm really going to regret this if he ever gets faster than me. . . if.

At this point, if I were crude, I would make a comment like, "she could beat me anytime." But that's not my style.:sm_up_there:

Take a look at her neck. That's a driver's neck. Other than than that, 5' +-, 100lb, nicely, but not radically curvy, my absolute weakness . . . if she were Asian, I probably wouldn't even be able to type ;)

Even I think she looks good and yes I do see what you mean about the neck. It's a good thing her hair covers it up.

My parents almost bought John Force's house that he was selling some 20 years ago... but they bought the one we're in now instead.
A bit of useless personal trivia.

Women may not dominate the sports world but generally they are more fun to watch...strutting around in a bikini that is!!!
