I've now started to watch this. It only 26 installments. The date on the first volume is 1952. Hell, some on this first volume looks farmilar.

I used to watch that series in the late '60's as a kid and really enjoyed it. All great footage. All filmed in black&white?

On volume 2 they go into Pearl Habor. All achive film from both the Japanise and US. Very interesting. So far I found two mistakes in the information they have put forth.

Possibly the best documentary series ever. Own it, love it, and being the world war II freak that I am, i try to watch it at least yearly, the musical score for the series alone is amazing.

Yep, it is one of the best. All film is from WWII. They cover the whole World at War. In this documentary they go places that were hardly ever mentioned in most History Books.
