And for some pics.

Here's (http://motorgen.com/pic/showgallery.php/cat/1012) the album.

Just a couple selected photos.

Sean gives directions.

Confusion follows.

The one. The only. . . The Bob.

http://motorgen.com/pic/data/1012/10-09-11_GMR_36.jpg

Can you find the U.F.O.?

http://motorgen.com/pic/data/1012/10-09-11_GMR_39.jpg

These guys weren't with us, but I like bikes, so . .

http://motorgen.com/pic/data/1012/10-09-11_GMR_31.jpg

Gotta admit. I kinda like the looks of this car, and I wanna drive one to see for myself what the 411 is. Does anybody say 411 anymore?

http://motorgen.com/pic/data/1012/10-09-11_GMR_03.jpg

Never seen an Evo IV in person before.

Carlos, a.k.a., BADDASSC6 is a really nice guy. But you'd never guess by looking at him . . or reading his posts.

============================
OP
Sorry for the late notice, but the next cruise is this Saturday, September 11th.

The meet point will be at a Kohl's in Upland with a very large parking lot. The address for Kohl's is:

1923 N Campus Ave
Upland, CA 91784

This puts us only about 5 miles or so from the beginning of the run. As I mentioned above, the total distance for the entire cruise is 43.3 miles. It should last about an hour and a half total. Once we finish the run the meeting point will be at a restaurant called La Tolteca (EXCELLENT Mexican food with a large parking lot and plenty of room for all of us inside). The restaurant is less than 5 miles from the end of the run, so again it should be a lot easier to keep together. The address for La Tolteca is:

429 N Azusa Ave
Azusa, CA 91702

I am going to shoot for a meet time at the Kohl's in Upland at 2:45p.m. We will leave the lot at 3:30p.m. With any luck, we should arrive for dinner between 5 and 5:30p.m.

Here is the route we are taking. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=1923+North+Campus+Avenue,+Upland,+CA%E2%80%8 E&daddr=Glendora+Ridge+Rd+to:E+Fork+Rd+to:CA-39+S%2FSan+Gabriel+Canyon+Rd+to:429+North+Azusa+Av enue,+Azusa,+CA%E2%80%8E&geocode=%3BFbhmCgIdyab8-A%3BFdRKCgIdYvH6-A%3BFX5yCgIdWrv5-A%3BFdLFCAIdMt74-CnVHo6i7CfDgDGK-u_IBJ0heQ&hl=en&mra=ls&sll=34.132264,-117.642952&sspn=0.002087,0.005284&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=34.183122,-117.774124&spn=0.13235,0.338173&z=12) I have gone through and cleaned it up by hand (don't trust google maps completely) and it should be simple. I will have directions for everyone at the Kohl's and will hand them out before we leave. The drive is a lot of fun and the views are pretty incredible. See you all Saturday!

I had to drop off my STS-V because of a gas leak. Hopefully I will have it back in time. The loaner DTS would not be any fun on GMR. Only if they would have gave me the CTS-V Coupe in the showroom for a loaner.

I got the car back today and did an inspection of the car. The front tires are too worn for comfort on GMR so I will have to back out. The tires are on order, but there were none in stock in the West Coast.

No they don't. They did a stock check. None in the local warehouses and the stores that show stock are in the east. The earliest delivery date would be Monday and they can't check with Continental until Monday. I thought about changing all 4, but my cost will double and the rears have only 2k on them. I looked at tirerack and they have no stock either. I also checked with discount tire and they don't have stock either.

Honestly, ditch those as soon as you can. I use to work for Discount Tires in Vegas, and those tires gave people the most problems. And, if you ever have a warranty issue, they have to sent to the manufacturer for them to inspect them. That and there are so many other tires that out perform those, cheaper, and easier to get.

All the complaints about the Continentals that I found posted in the internet don't relate to the extreme series, but the older series of tires. The dry/wet tires will work better, and I did 65% off for the rear tires that I wore out in 12K miles. I did get a set Hankook Ventus V12 Evo for $790 out the door. They turn in and stick better than the Continentals DWS Extremes. I hope they will last until the next oil change. I did make the run just in time and was the last car in the pack up the road. I was glad that Carlos and Ben drove slowly so I could keep up. Great drive and good food. I was glad I was able to make it.

I drove slowly. Carlos was stuck behind me. Honestly, though, it wasn't thaaatt slow. You guys have way more modern tech and driver experience. :hail:

No way I could even come close to keeping up with Carlos. His Vette is an animal. I enjoyed following him just for the sound track. My STS-V does ok, but I would not be able to keep up with either of you if you were going all out. The extra 1000 pounds of weight I carry will keep me from being competitive. I wasn't going to push the car too hard because the front tires were brand new, I drove straight from the tire dealer to Kohls, and I was not too sure how the car will handle with the front tires having so much more traction than the rear. When I applied power the rear started to squirm so I just tried to be smooth.

The sun was in a crappy place relative to the road. So it was either that, get a nice image of the cars going away, or stare into the sun. The nice thing about that little canyon there was the sound bounced around the camera mighty fine.

I take it you guys like Glendora Ridge Road then? That's my favorite part of those canyons, and going down the east side of GMR.

I made it 20 minutes late to the meeting spot, but caught up to you guys at the first stopping point where you guys took pics.

I hate it personally, scares the crap out of me. I feel like someone is going to get very hurt up there one of these days due to the nature of the roads and other people driving while we do. I try to stay in the middle so I feel safe.

It's scary in places, but I'm always looking up the mountain ahead of us so I know when I can cut corners. If I don know if someone is coming, I'm always on my outside. There is one really good spot to stop and take some pics, but you can get maybe 10 cars in at once. I'll post a pic of the spot later.
