Plus an insight on the nature of American vs. European cars. Mostly I'm posting because even if you don't care about guns or cars, there's just something HI-larious about this video.

Any seven and half minute video where the creator starts with his conclusion in the first nine seconds is ok by me. At first, I thought it was a put on, and it was pretty funny. Then I realized it's dead serious, at which point it became hilarious.

This man may be the perfect embodiment of the American stereotype. So great.

Browning designed the 1911 to drop a horse. Remember in the early 1900s they still used horses.
Yep, I'd take a 45 acp over 9mm anytime.

Sadly, I think a lot of it came out of our experience in the Philippines, where we were busy being imperialists and killing the native Moro population. They were some burly dudes who, especially hoped up on drugs of some kind, were pretty tough to to stop with handguns of the time.
I think that's also where the marines got the nickname leather necks. The Moros would take a nasty whack at your neck with their machete and without protection, it'd separate one's head from one's body, which is unpleasant. The Marines adapted wearing leather around their necks as a kind of protection. This is off memory, might have it wrong.

Yep, that was pretty close. Browning's story was the Army needed a handgun to stop a Calvary charge by dropping the horse.
Have you fired any .45 +Ps yet???

It's a "heavier" load. Instead of 850 fps for a 240 grain bullet you would step up the load to (ballpark) 1100 to 1200 fps. Thus "+" performance.
Sort of a mini mag- so to speak.
A number of manufactures supply +Ps.

I have looked into this a great deal. Tricky stuff to hand load. You are getting into the high end of the pressure limit. Some guns may not handle the higher pressures. One reason I got the Glock 21.
