GPS (jip-is) I want one primarily for my Neon, that I can also take in the boat to find my way to Catalina. I've been told Garmin makes this. Any others?

I think all smart phones, but certainly the iPhone offer this as free apps/cheap apps. Consider buying a smart phone rather than a dedicated GPS. HOWEVER, if rugged durability and hard core GPS is the object, maybe go to REI and ask them what back country hikers use.

I have metro PCS, iPhone is out.

Get a android os comes with google maps and nav stock. I have a tom tom it sucks sweaty balls sometimes it takes me around the block for no apparent reason.

Don't think that will work with Metro PCS.
