Never did get the whole Mercury thing - although I did like the Cougars in the late 60's

The Cougars are about the only thing from them I can place in my mind. I had a friend in HS with one. She loved that thing and we raised some hell here and there. :drink:

I had a 53 Merc, beautiful car - dog slow though flathead mercamatic.

Ford did the same to Merc as GM first did to the F body then Olds then Pontiac. reduce advertising to practically nothing the when sales naturally fall - kill brand.

Hate to see the Town Car lose its RWD. Thats what makes luxury car to me.

The worst one in the category is Saturn. It kicked ass early on, was supported, then like a lot of things got neglected and went on a slow decline. Winning on regular basis takes effort on a regular basis.

Mercury is going to be missed by me. It is part of my car History. My Dad owns a Merc. It has only got a little under 7.000 miles and is 5 years old.:(
