Everything looks great Jose, nice and clean.
I meant to ask you last night, how is the ride with the lowering springs? It's something I would consider at some point but I'm not interested in making the ride insanely stiff or anything like that.

I kinda thought "User Project Cars (http://motorgen.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=102)" was pretty clear, but hey, you're a Ford owner. :smack: Just kidding. Great thread!
BTW, why don't you add your Cobra to your garage? Here's (http://motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118) how.
Then it will be searchable under Member Rides (http://motorgen.com/find/vehicles.php?database=user_vehicles), like my totally awesome Vette (http://motorgen.com/garage/showvehicle.php?vid=58).

Well the Tires i put them on sat. u saw them at Nick's I dint put any pics cause i still have to do the alignment and the MM Full Length Subframe Connectors. Hopefully tonight and after that im done. In a few months with some cash in hand i will get the whole bushing kit for everything. I dont like using credit cars so everything i buy is payed with cash in hand or in the checking accout. lol As far as power i think i might do the 2# lower pulley as well as a small shot of the Sauce like 50 shot is what im thinking.

Will a 2# lower overspin the blower with a 2.76 upper, or will you still see gains?
silvertermi04
02-23-2009, 11:04 AM
With a 2.73 up top they say to go #2 lower if u have like a 2.93 and i think also if u have the 2.8 then u need to go with the #4 lower.

If you do a lower you have to change the alternator pulley too, right?

For those kind of questions i always go to the Socalterminators.com guys, they are supper smart on the cobra stuff, might want to ask that before i do the install. If i actually go that route.

That's interesting. I have a higher trap than 89 in the 1/8th. And I mean a real clocked flying mile top speed run, not just a little blurp to "high speed". :p.

I was on Nitto street tires too. Your trap will probably go down an mph or two on low psi DRs. Anyway, I like Cobras quite a bit, I just like teasing Cobra drivers even more. :)
I pasted in a bogus link. Here (http://motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118) it is.

First pic is the car in the lift. To do the FLSC it has to be a Drive On Lift and also this is the lift for the Alignment.

You can see that the stock Cobra is not quite heavy enough. So what we do is weld in a big ass piece of steel tubing to correct the issue.

Jose the car looks great, good work. I know almost nothing about suspension (what else is new, right?) so can you explain to me exactly what the caster/camber plates do? My guess would be they allow you to adjust the caster/camber of the suspension for better handling, but would you really notice it that much in normal driving? Help
Oh, and you're coming to Savi on Sunday, right? Let's do a big savi meet this week.

I am actually very surprised that the Cobras did not come with the crappy factory SFC. Mine did and I am not pulling anywhere near the power you guys are. I am not sure how good they are but even so, something would be better than nothing right?! Looking good Jose. The next mods I am going to be doing are Caster/camber plates (MM of course) so let me know how they feels, FLSF connectors, and the new rear control arms. that should do for suspension until I get some real power with a oversized blower thingy!

The caster/camber plates allow for a greater range of camber adjustment as well as giving you the ability to adjust caster. The C/C Plate also gives you more up travel.
For more lets grap some verbage from our friends over at Maximum Motorsports...
Whether your Mustang is driven on the street, or pushed to the limit on a racetrack, a proper alignment is an essential part of suspension tuning and performance. Caster, camber and toe settings are the three most important settings that need to be adjusted when aligning your Mustang. A good front-end alignment provides greater cornering and straight line stability, better steering response, increased front tire grip, and longer tire life. There are no drawbacks to having the proper alignment! The Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber Plates are engineered to provide the widest range of alignment settings possible. This ensures that a proper alignment can be achieved for any type of casual or performance driving.
Lowered Mustangs
When a Mustang is lowered it loses available suspension travel and may bottom-out the suspension frequently. The lower ride height results in excessive negative camber, which often causes uneven tire wear. The Maximum Motorsports (MM) Caster/Camber Plates have the adjustment capability to allow an alignment to correct any excessive negative camber caused by lowering. The MM Caster/Camber Plates will also allow regaining lost suspension travel, which will improve both performance and ride comfort.
