This idea came up in the Ghost Rider post. It is time to spill the embarrassing truth! What is something you did to your car back in the eighty's or any decade that you would not want to roll today? I know everyone has one. Pink frames, knock off's, stripes, stereos that you could not here any words from just distortion when the bass hit, how about really loud exhaust just to attempt to make your car sound fast. I think this should be interesting to see how peoples taste changes over the years.

I had an exhaust cutout on my 98SS. It droned terribly and made the car sound way meaner than it actually was :surrender:

My first truck was a 1969 FJ40. We painted it in my friends garage, we did the body work on it and did not even wet sand the primer. I painted it bright, bright yellow. Everyone used to say "nice Jeep" it drove me nuts, so on the rear sides I put big stickers that had Jeep with a red circle and slash through it. Then everyone would say "if you don't like Jeeps why do you own one"!

70 Datsun roadster, put red fake braided hoses on it...looked like crap. Thought it was "RAD" at the time. First Camaro had 10 toggle switches on the dash to turn off each light individually:barf:

Actually since 72 the Vette has looked and sounded like it does. So I was perfect from the beginning.:motorsmile::lmfao:
Well I did add dual quads in 88--but that did make it faster.

Now, I just say thank's or thank's but it's a Toyota.
I was talking to an instuctor from the GM training center the other day about Toyotas unwanted acceleration. He was laughing about everyone not just putting the car in neutral. A woman who was listening to the conversation said honestly if you told me to put my car into neutral I would not know how. I always knew that there was an N on the shifter but never knew what it was for. These are the uneducated consumers we have driving on the roads. I think you should have to pass an owners manual vehicle operation test before they let you drive off the lot with a car.

I'll have to see if Amy has a picture somewhere but in '89 the Chevelle was candy blue or a silver metallic base with hot pink, yellow and lavender stripes. It also had a hot pink steering wheel. Phil remembers it.

I have owned 3 vehicles and can not honestly remember a thing I did to any of them I would be embarrassed about.

I keep telling my friend John (with the green Magnum) that his tail lights are fagtacular. He needs to let me tint them black. I think they would look cool at night shining through tinted lenses.

How could I forget! The blue was actually a cool color. The stripes and steering wheel was another story.:boggled:
I can't stand when people take good quality factory lights off of cars and trucks and install piece of shit aftermarket lights that look like they do not belong. Another one I see alot is installing high intensity lights on cars that were not equiped with them from the factory. No one seems to be smart enough to realize that the wiring on most of these cars needs to be upgraded as well. We see melted harnesses and sockets all the time.

Wire Hubcaps on a 85 Monte carlo SS. First mod. THey didn't last though. I blew the motor up then dropped a 350 in and they suddenly started flying off?
Come to think about it my truck is the only vehicle I've ever owned that I didn't blow the motor up in:suicide:. I better sell it soon.

I definitely don't see you as the wire hub cap guy anymore. The engine blow up guy is a whole lot cooler, but on the down side a whole lot more expensive.

A harness like the one linked below should prevent any wiring problem.
